We have a speed fiend on our hands - and she's only 19 months old!
We went to the Upper Hutt 'H2O Xtreme' pool this afternoon with friends, intending to have a leisurely swim/splash around and cool off (it was hideously hot and muggy today). Hubby mentioned that small daughter was now totally obsessed with the slide at playcentre, and he took her down the hydroslide to see what she'd make of it (it was free today for some reason) - and she loved it! When she got down the bottom, we asked her whether she liked it - vigorous nodding - and would she like to go again? - vigorous finger-pointing in the direction of the steps, along with urgent move-in-that-direction noises....!
In the end, she went down about 6 or 7 times with hubby and once with me, and kept wanting more. We eventually had to tell her that it was the very last time or we would have been there all night, and the final time hubby took her down at full speed (she was sitting on him and he was lying down so they went faster) - and her eyes were shining and she was positively shaking with excitement when she got to the bottom. It was definitely excitement too - she was kicking her legs and bouncing around, and when she's scared she just clings. No clinging today!
What have we let loose on this unsuspecting world?!

It's okay - I don't think you'd have recognised us all wet, and the small daughter looks more like a wee lad in her current pair of togs! I'm going to find something a little more girly (but not pink *shiver*) for summer!
Will give you a ring soonish - I kept meaning to last week but it turned out insane with Xmas parties etc!
