The lazy days of summer seem to have arrived at last - we've spent the past week pottering around in the garden (yes, you did read that right, we have been weeding!), d0ing general tidying (we rediscovered the study floor last week), and spending a lot of time at various swimming pools, as the Hutt River is currently interdicted for swimming - apparently there is a toxic algal bloom again. The small daughter is getting us both fit as she imperiously commands that we run up the stairs for yet another hydroslide ride at Naenae or H2O Xtreme (Upper Hutt) - not that we mind! She is a real water rat, which is great because we love swimming too. We've even discovered that she will ride happily on one of our backs when we swim lengths as the other parent swims behind, so we can do some proper swimming too (just not flip turns, not that I ever managed to figure out how to do one anyway!).
