Christ is Risen!

He is risen indeed, and we celebrated at the 6am dawn service, the return of the light. Lighting the Paschal candle, watching the light flood through the church as everyone's candle was lit until the altar candles and sanctuary were alight. Watching the sky through the windows turn from inky black to midnight blue, to pale water blue, to shimmering dawn as the sun rose, turning all the church to cream and gold and light and bright shadow. Knowing that Christ is risen, alive, breathing through all creation, all life. Enjoying our parish breakfast - sausage and bacon and eggs tasted really good in the warm, bright hall after getting up at 5am in the cold and the dark! Seeing friends that we haven't seen in ages, who have been away at university or attend different services. Fellowship. Friendship. Joy. Love. Life. Wonder.

He is risen. Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.
