Visiting

I have been watching the discussions about the upcoming Visitation of (Catholic) Apostolic Religious Life in the USA. A number of my nun friends have been talking about it for some time, and they are quite concerned about what it will mean for them. It is an investigation by the Vatican of religious life of female Orders - but only the apostolic ones (not enclosed nuns) - but the way it's been set up. Sr Julie Viera from A Nun's Life linked to this essay by Sr Sandra Schneiders about some of the issues around the Visitation and why a lot of sisters are so edgy about it. I'm too removed from it to comment, but I am praying for my nun friends and their Orders that God will be in charge of what comes out of the process.
