Justice

David Bain's retrial has ended and he has been found not guilty. I am so pleased: I followed the case at the time and all through the latest round of appeals and retrials, and I never thought that he did it. Murder isn't a balance of probabilities case and there seemed to be enough extenuating circumstances to make it not possible for the jury to have found him guilty beyond reasonable doubt.

Justice has been done, and been seen to be done. I only hope that he can rebuild his life: that the years that the locust has eaten are given back to him in some way.
